A country’s progress is engraved with the youth’s footprints. The future of a nation lies in the hope of youth’s power. The Chinese dream is the guiding ideology which is brought forward by the General Secretary Xi Jinping. He defined the Chinese dream as “achieving the great rejuvenation is the greatest dream of the Chinese nation in modern times”. He has stated that young people should “dare to dream, work assiduously to fulfill the dreams and contribute to the revitalization of the nation”. Therefore, the university students , as the important group of the youth, must try their best to achieve the Chinese dream. Contemporary college students must be ambitious, and keep the motherland in mind. We should also undertake the mission of national rejuvenation , strive to be the new force to serve the nationand make contributions to the society. Following the opium war of 1840, foreign invasion made the nation decline. The Chinese nation was regarded as the “sick man of east Asia” and was partitioned by others at will. As a result, the Chinese nation was left behind the world. Therefore, realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation became the constant goal of all Chinese descents. As contemporary college students what we must do first is establishing a strong sense of mission and a sense of liability. On the broad stage of reform and opening up and modernization construction, we should give full play to our talents, unfold our own life values, strive to create achievements and live up to the era and the people. Secondly, we must make ourselves creative people in accordance with the times. Throughout history of the development of science and technology in the world, we can find that many scientists’ important inventions were produced in their youth. The 21st century is a knowledge-based economy era, it demands interdisciplinary talents with innovative consciousness and innovative abilities. University students ought to forge ahead determinedly toward the glorious goal of modernization and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. We must respond to the country’s call to devote our regretless youth. We should turn our patriotism into the powerful current of motherland’s construction.
